The Keurig coffee maker is not just for making coffee. You can brew a pot of tea or use it as an espresso coffee pot. This is the perfect percolator when you only want one cup of coffee. Keurig is famous for its single cup brewer with many exciting features. It is only a small pot, so it will easily fit on your countertop and in the black and silver colors, it will match any kitchen decor. The water tank on this pot is removable, which makes it very easy to fill and there is a drip tray where you can place your regular size or travel mug underneath.
The message prompts on the carafe tell you when you need to add water and there is a programmable option so that you can have the machine automatically go off at a specific time. You don't have to measure the coffee or grind any beans for this machine because you use special K-cups - small plastic containers that have just the right amount of coffee for one cup of java. You can choose between two cup sizes for your coffee needs - 7.5 ounce and 5.25 ounce.
Within minutes the Keurig has your coffee ready for you. The water tank holds more than enough water for several cups of coffee and whenever you need a cuppa, all you have to do is add the K-cup. Since the water is already hot, it just pours through the grounds and drips into your waiting cup. The K-cups come in all flavours of coffee so that you can have espresso, cappuccino, mocha, French Vanilla, French Roast and many more. You don't have to bother with a filter because everything you need is in the K-cup.
Both the holder for the K-cup and the funnel on the Keurig are dishwasher safe. The lid is not, however, so you should wash this by hand. The manufacturer also recommends that you run vinegar through the pot at least once every six months to de-scale it. The LCD message display will tell you when it is time to do this. Even when this message is flashing, you can still brew your favorite cup of java until you get time to do the cleaning. This coffee maker is reasonably priced and even though you have to purchase the K-cups, this is no more expensive than buying cans of pre-ground coffee.
