Cuisinart makes a grind and brew coffee maker that lets you grind the coffee beans immediately before brewing a fresh pot of coffee. Cuisinart also has a red coffee pot designed for making coffee for only one or two persons. This coffee pot makes four cups and is small enough to easily fit on any counter. It has a stainless steel carafe and the spout doesn't drip when you pour the coffee into the cup. This red coffee maker also has the pause feature so that you can sneak a cup of java while you're waiting.
With the grind and brew coffee pot, the stainless steel thermal carafe holds up to ten cups of coffee and will keep it hot for hours. This means that there is no hot plate in the flat bottom of the maker, so once the coffee brews it automatically goes off. This is really handy if you always forget to check if the coffee pot is still on when you leave for work.
To use the grind and brew model of coffee maker, you just dump in your favorite flavour of coffee beans in the holder on the top of the machine. This Cuisinart model uses a gold filter and you just slide it in the tray in the front. You can put the beans in the grinder, set the timer for when you want it to start and the coffee maker will do the rest. It will start grinding at the pre-determined time, dump the grinds into the filter and brew the pot of coffee. All you have to do is supply the beans and the water. If you load all the ingredients in the night and set the timer, you can wake up to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee in the morning.
If you don't want to brew 10 cups of coffee, you certainly don't have to. You just select the 1 - 4 cups option and put in enough beans and water for a smaller amount. Then you won't have to waste any of the precious java by having to throw out the stale coffee.
Cleaning this coffee pot is also very easy. Although you can wash the removable parts in the upper rack of the dishwasher, it is not a big job to rinse them by hand. You only have to run the filter through running water and the grinding mechanism also comes right out. A simple rinse and dry and you can put them both back in place.
